Turner Hill Wildlife Management Area
(Athens/Grafton, VT) 
Andrew and a neighbor started the process to conserve land in what is now the "Turner Hill Wildlife Management Area" (THWMA) in 2007. This WMA now has 1,000 acres owned by the State of Vermont, being managed for wildlife and habitat. A lot of time has been spent on the ground and in showing the land to partners, resulting in three different land purchases by the State over the past 9 years. Field inventories found a federally listed endangered plant, prime bear habitat, and a remarkable network of undisturbed beaver impoundments and other unique wetlands. This map shows the results of field work in the THWMA and surrounding area.
